Pokémon and Nike iD

A self-initiated project with Duncan Hoge that showcases Pokémon-inspired Nike shoes created with the Nike iD Builder. It’s called Poké iD.

Caught up in the recent Pokémon GO craze, we wanted to capture the trend in culture through popular shoe silhouettes like the Nike Presto and the Sock Darts — just to name a few.

With the help of Terrence Ma, we managed to accumulate a handful of Pokémon-inspired shoes overnight to help jumpstart the inspiration process so that others can join in on the customizing their own pair of Pokémon-inspired shoes.

While designing a pair of Pikachu shoes (Pikashoes?) seem very tempting, our goal is to design a pair of shoes for all generation 1 Pokémons. So, if you’re interested in contributing, head over to where you can find assets to work with along with a spreadsheet outlining what we’ve already collected and what is still needed.

Gotta Nike iD ’em all!
