The Problem

As a runner, I’ve always wondered why we run 5Ks? 10Ks? Half marathons? Marathons? Or even ultra marathons? Running is essential for a better life, but the distances we set out to run are completely arbitrary. The marathon was based off of an Athenian messenger who ran 25 miles from the coastal plains of Marathon to Athens to deliver the message that the Greeks had successfully pushed back the Persians.

Concept

Rungry is a food-based running app for the Apple Watch that tracks and contextualizes your run to the things that you crave, especially after a run. 🍺🍩🍕🍔

Select a food that you want to run for → Track your progress → Celebrate with some beers!

The Experience

Pre-Run

User can vertically swipe or use Watch crown to page through various food items to run for.

In-Run

In-Run / Progress

On the run, the runner burns calories, which translates into earning the food that they’ve selected from the home screen.

Post-Run

After completing the run, the summary screen displays the total number of items earned. Below shows the different states of the summary screen when it’s less than 10 items or greater than 10 (that’s a lot of beers!).

This is a personal project of mine, which has not been developed yet. I’ve been fully involved from UX to design and if you’re an Apple Watch developer, HMU. 🙌
